Eagle Decorated Warmer.....SALE PENDING
New England, ca. early 19th century. As a reflection of their patriotism and pride in their young country, the maker of this warmer elevated it to special with the rare depiction of the symbol of America, the eagle, on the front and sides. Warmers like these were used extensively when riding in a carriage, or in a poorly heated building. Hardwood, possible maple, with what appears to be a red-pigment within the over-varnish. All original condition with expected wear to surface. About 10 ¾ inches wide x 7 ½ deep x 6 ¼ tall. From a long time New England collection; Robert Thayer..
