'BOOTED' Blacksmith Made Heart Trivet

First half, 19th century. Iron. Robust in hand. Super elongated, stylized heart supported by boot-posts which are peened to the heart. Occasionally I have seen similar boots as the termination of the cabriole leg on New England candlestands. The heart was typically a love token given as a gift for birthday, wedding, or anniversary. Terrific condition with the top having a soft feel from in-use wear. Felt pads under feet easily removed if desired. About 6 1/8 inches long x 4 7/8 wide x 1 7/8 tall.
