Rare, Soulful Early Wooden Candlestick
New England, ca. 18th century. Very deeply turned from what appears to be maple. Obviously fashioned from “green” wood, as the large crack opened as it dried. The crack just adds to the feel. Candlesticks in wood are exceedingly rare from this period. The delightful form and character of this example makes a standout in an early lighting or treen/Americana collection. About 5 inches tall. Private New England collection.
