Small Swing-Handled
Basket in Blue Paint   

American, ca. late 19th century.

Very dry blue paint on what appears to be ash. The top is oval, the base is squared, on four raised feet, the form sometimes referred to as “kitten head”. The swing handle joined via loops-within-loops.

Fine condition, doesn’t appear to have any breaks.  Paint wear as expected especially on the handle, rim, and feet.

Oval top about 6 7/8 inches x 6 ¼; height 4 5/8 inches height at the rim; upright handle would add 3 ¾.
